• We’ve spent a long time in trucking

  Long before OpenRoad Financial existed, our people were building businesses in the freight industry and working alongside the carriers who keep this country moving every day.

  We have deep freight brokerage experience. But perhaps lesser is known is that part of our journey included operating a successful trucking company for more than 16 years. We weren’t watching trucking from the sidelines—we were living it.

  We know what it’s like to have payroll coming due while still waiting to get paid from the broker.

  We know what it feels like when fuel prices jump, rates soften, or an unexpected repair shows up at exactly the wrong time.

  Those experiences shaped the way we think about this industry and the way we serve the people in it today.

  While we ultimately made the decision to focus our energy on serving carriers rather than operating trucks ourselves, we took everything we learned from those years in trucking and put it into building a better experience for the people still doing it every day.

• Over the years, we worked with a lot of carriers.

  The first thing we learned is that they’re our kind of people. The folks who start, run, and work in trucking companies are some of the hardest working people you will ever meet. We seriously respect that.

  But the second thing we learned is that many of them rely on factoring to keep their businesses moving, and we see why. Expenses don’t wait 30 days. Drivers certainly don’t wait.

  Factoring solves a real problem.

  But we also saw a lot of carriers frustrated by the experience. Poor communication, confusing agreements, and slow responses when they needed help most.

  It felt like many factoring companies understood the financial part, but not the trucking part.

  So in 2016, we started OpenRoad Financial with a simple goal: Build the kind of factoring company we’d want to work with ourselves.

  One that answers the phone and understands what’s actually happening out on the road.

  One who doesn’t need you to explain what detention, lumpers, or TONU means.

• We've supported more than 800 carriers across the country.

  Today, OpenRoad has supported more than 800 carriers across the country and provided fast, reliable funding to trucking businesses for over a decade.

  We’re grateful for every one of those relationships, but what motivates us most is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for the people and businesses we serve.

  We’ve seen firsthand what happens when a carrier has the right support behind them. We’ve watched businesses get off the ground, add trucks, navigate difficult markets, and achieve goals they weren’t sure were possible. Being a small part of those stories is incredibly rewarding, and it’s what keeps us excited about the work we do.

  We’re naturally curious people. We like solving problems. We like finding better ways to do things. And we’re always asking ourselves how we can make life a little easier for the carriers who trust us with their business. We work hard around here, but aren’t afraid to have some fun too!

  We believe trucking is an important industry and that the people in it deserve great partners. We feel fortunate to spend our days helping businesses that keep this country moving.

  Not because we think we’ve figured everything out, but because we know there’s still so much opportunity to grow and get better.

  This industry isn’t easy, but we’re committed to being part of it for the long haul. We’re focused on building a company that carriers can rely on year after year, through good markets and difficult ones alike.
